The Governess tells her daughter that she's going to be on her best behavior today. She's angry that the Governess didn't do anything to stop the escape yesterday, and that the Victorian dress of her daughter is like a funeral. She tells her that she hasn't had enough time for her daughter to try any new things yet, so they're going to go check out a nearby pet store and see what's wrong with her daughter's little pet ferret. She says that the pet store clerk is a bit "outrageous" , but that's okay, because she'll take care of the little animal. She thanks the store clerk for saving her from bankruptcy, and she thanks the vet who took care of her little girl's pet ferret, who's dying.
