In this short scene, Deryn and Alek continue their search for Deryn. Alek tells Deryn that he and Deryn are short of one another. He tells her that Deryn has been flirting with another man, and that she should not worry because they will always be friends. Deryn tells Alek that she still owes him one more portion of her juice, and she tells him that she will not take it back if he does not believe her. She tells him to be grateful that she actually wants to pay for the juice, because if she does not, she will throw the juice away. She then tells Alek to leave her alone in the canteen, because she will be widowed as well.
