He suggests that they hire some people to do the washing, and they can all use the same kind of washing machine. He then asks if there's anything he can do to make it easier for them to get along, like using a shelf instead of a wall hanging. They both agree that it would be nice to have a shelf in their room, so they can use it as a place to hide their dishes.
