This chapter opens with the sound of a wounded pup, baring its "all bark" . It's the same pup that was killed by the old man in the previous chapter. The pup's name is Nemo, and it's a little boy. Nemo is a little bratty, but he's also a big fan of his dad. Nemo tells his dad that he'll be eating the pup in 11 minutes, so he can get back at the old guy. The old man tells Nemo that he should have stayed away from his dad when he was a kid. Nemo says that's not true, and that his dad loves him more than he ever knew. He's right. Nemo doesn't want to kill his dad, and he begs his dad not to kill him until he knows that he loves him back. He begs his father to come with him to the capital and kill his son.
