About This Chapter
The three of them talk like they're good friends. They're eating better than they've been eating all day. They ask each other about their favorite things to do while reading, and each says that he's not happy about being in a position where he can't eat anything. He also says that his favorite thing to do is to interview politicians or criminals, but he'll keep his mouth shut because he doesn't want to be seen as a traitor. He asks who the closest person to him is in the guild, and they both say that they feel closest to each other. He then asks if they'd both interview criminals or politicians, but she says that she wouldn't do that because she'd keep her mouth shut. He tells her that she gave him a tip about how much he loved books, and he asks if she meant that it had to be saved by magic. She says that it was saved by "data" , which means that he has to know what she's talking about. She then asks him if he thinks that a journalist would sell her sources to anyone. He says he'd kill her anyway if he knew what she was talking about, and then he asks who she is. She tells him that she heard of them, and that she'll tell him her source's name. He accuses her of being a "fire magic getup" and a "whack-a-mole" . He calls her "nothing but peace" and says that if he can control the entire industry, he can have more power than the kingdom can boast of. He wants to know who betrayed him, and who betrayed the company's board members, so that he can get their boards for himself. If he can do that, he says, then he can "control a good 50 percent of the industries" and have more control over the kingdom than the king's power can boast. He wonders why they would want to make their products better than the ones made by the other companies, and wonders if she can use the magic to get back at them. He's worried that she won't be able to stop the attack, so he asks her how much security she needs, and she replies that she needs a lot of it, but that's all she needs. She asks him how he plans to get away from her. He warns her that he could have ruled the kingdom by now if he hadn't made better products.
