About This Chapter
In this chapter, the fairy girl tells the reader that she and her friend, lucy, are out shopping in the city when they run into a baker who sells bread crusts for free. She asks the baker if they could have a contest to see who has the most "girlish power" . She says that if she were to win the contest, she would have to prove that she is a "woman" and not just a "man." She also says that she would be able to defeat a man who is "cooler in love" than hers. She then goes on to say that if they were to have a "miss fairy girl contest," she would choose lucy because she is "feminine" and she would win a test of girlish powers. She also adds that if lucy were to "train up," her powers would grow even stronger. She tells the baker that she thinks he has a crush on her, and that if he were to see her, he would think she is not a thief. The baker says that he is not sure if this is true or not, but the girl tells him that she wants to prove her love for "gray sama." The baker tells the girl that she will be pitted against all five of them in a cooking competition. He says that the only way for her to win is to "go all out." He then says that after telling him to take on her for real, he has forgotten "something lucy vs a bust line" to "blow their minds." He adds that he would wear a white dress as a mark of purity.
