Captain Strong tells the group that they've got to get back to the forest ranger's house and find out what's been going on. Captain Strong says they'll find out once they get there, and then they can stop worrying about the monster and just keep walking. He says that the forest is creepy, and that the old people are still living there, even though it's not too far away from town. The Captain thinks that maybe the monster lives in the woods, and the kid tells him that he was sent by the forest rangers to guide them home. The kid says that he's lived there a long time, and even though the forest isn't safe at night, it still's dangerous to go out at night. The captain says that's okay, and they should get back as soon as they can. He's a little nervous, but the kid reassures him by saying that he hasn't tried any more than one monster before, and he just wants to get home. He tells the Captain to hurry up and get back, because the kid is a bit peculiar. The monster eats people, Captain Strong explains, so he hid in the forest.
