It's time for supper, and the abbot is having a hard time getting his wife to eat. She's wandering around the village, and he can't figure out where she's been. He asks her to go to the reception, but she refuses, saying that she just doesn't feel well. The abbot asks her why she would go to see Ethan, and she says that she'd rather go for a walk than to see him. She begs the abbot to get up and tell her what's up. She tells him that her husband has gone into the forest again, but hasn't returned yet. She asks him to pray for her husband, but he won't tell her. She wants to know if there's someone else who's missing, and so the abbot says he'll tell the baron.
