The assistant manager says he can, but he'll have to wait until the next day to see if he has any luck. He tells the protagonist that he has a hunch that something's wrong with the protagonist. He says he doesn't know what it is, but it's not like he can figure out a way to get rid of it without hurting someone else. The protagonist says he'd like to know what's going on. He wants to know if the assistant manages to keep him from killing someone, and if the manager can find a way for him to do that without hurting anyone else.
