The scene opens with a knock at the door. It's Kim Kyung-hee's wedding day, and she's planning to get married in Gunan, a small town on the island of Jeju. Kim asks why she hasn't already sent out invitations to the wedding, and he tells her that he'll be there on Saturday. Kim says he doesn't want to eavesdrop on her wedding plans, but he does want to know why she isn't planning to accept his offer of transportation to Gunan. He says he has a business there, and that's why he won't be able to accept Kim's offer of a ride. He also says he's not sure what kind of man Kim is, because he just came out of a meeting with someone who said he was "on his mind" a lot. Kim is confused by this. He's thinking that the groom is a little older than he actually is, which is why he looks so different from the groom. He asks if she wants to date the groom, and Kim says she does, but that she'll have to make up her mind later. She also says that she wants the groom to give her a clear answer about whether or not she likes him, because it's clear that he makes her heart flutter.
