About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he's going to do what he can to support himself and his family. He's working as a model at a gelato shop, which means that he has to do a lot of face-to-face work. The narrator is nervous about his first day on the job, but he says it's fine. He tells us about the college he'll be attending, which is called Oni San, or "the arts college." He tells the narrator to sit down for his first pose, which he does. He asks the narrator if she's cute, and the narrator says she is. He then tells the story of his teacher, who refused to do the pose with him because he didn't want to be the one to teach him. He says he'd be happy to continue teaching him if he thought of it this way. The two of them go to the sculpture department, where they see a carving by sakura, who is famous for his carvings. They decide to go see the paintings, too, since the narrator wants to go to college.
