About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that the school is having a "culture festival" , where students come to draw, eat, and socialize. The narrator asks to be excused from the festival so that he can "move forward" with his work. He tells the narrator to go to the haunted house, where he will be able to "switch shifts with you" . After the narrator leaves, he tells the other students that he's going to "borrow chitosechan" and ask him to be his model for his picture. He says that he wants to be the "brother" that can help him with his schoolwork, but that he doesn't have the skills to do so. He wants to help him, he says, by making him look like a "ladyman." The narrator says that if only he could cure "sakura san" of being a ladyman, his hand would be "dinged," and he wouldn't need to worry about getting mad at him. He's not blaming him.
