About This Chapter
The next morning, the king and his men return to the castle, where they find that the king has broken yet another of his ribs. They're practicing rugby, and the king tells them that he's not happy with the way things are going. He's worried about the prince who's been guarding the castle. The king says that the prince is a threat, but that he won't be around much longer. He also tells the king about the evil that the former prince used to do at the forbidden cemetery. The prince gloated over the deaths of the villagers, and thought about new evil deeds that would make sane men crazy. He says that it's time for the castle to be "smited" . That's a fancy way of saying that the castle needs to be cleaned up. He adds that he needs to find a way to wrest the throne away from the prince before he can do so. The next day, the men welcome the return of the evil, and they're happy to see that the evil has been routed out of the catacombs. The goblins have also been routed from the catacombs, and are now in a cart full of goblins. The only thing the king can do now is to make sure that the goblins aren't allowed to live in the land.
