In this chapter, we learn that the undead have been living in the catacombs for thousands of years. The van der Hunter explains that he is the "Mighty Van-Van Hunter" , and he says that when it is time to "kick ass," it is best to go out and destroy the undead. He tells us that the catacombs were made long before the time of King Utmos, and that the torches were probably lit by a Donette when she entered the catacombs. He says that they should be careful not to draw too much attention to themselves, as not all the undead can be destroyed. They should also keep in mind that even if they destroy all of the undead, they may not be able to destroy the remaining ones.
