In this chapter, the young vixen, known only as "Adonette," tells her lover, the vampire hunter, von Hunter, that she's going to have to find a way to get rid of the undead. She tells him to keep his eyes on the undead, because they're eating away at her brains. He's not going to be able to do anything about it, she tells him, because he's running around carrying a lot of heavy stuff. He tells her to keep a few of her undead family members in reserve, because in time, he'll restore their lives to the way they used to be. Adonette says that she loves her family, but she doesn't need to use the undead's powers to destroy them. She says that with her true love, she can destroy her family's graves the way she wants them to be destroyed. She's just been lying to herself, she says, and she can't believe she just said the same thing to her lover. He promises to always be by her side, he tells her, and he promises to find her and take care of her if she needs him. He adds that he'd like to start his own family, too, but he needs to get away from her. He says that he loves her, but that it's now time for him to move on to the next phase of his life, and that's probably not the best time to start a family. He also tells her that he has a new love, a vampire named Chiron, who promises to help him find her if he needs her. The vampire tells her not to worry, because she'll be by his side.
