In this chapter, we learn that the undead have been seen in the forbidden cemetery, and that the king has ordered the destruction of "all evil that remains" . In other words, the king wants the undead to be eaten by the undead. The king wants to make sure that his knights don't die in battle. He also wants the knights to know that he's planning to offer them a reward for their services. He wants to know everything about himself in his journal, so that he can read it and know what's going on in his head.
