He says that he'd like to stick around a person and help change them for the better, but there's a big difference between bending over backwards and bending over too far. He wants to walk away from his girlfriend, but she makes him promise to stay away from her. He tells her to cough cough and not to talk to her that way. They're almost at the fast-food place, and they're about to kill themselves if they don't stop eating. He thanks them for their kindness, but says that Brett is sick and needs to rest. He asks the narrator not to worry about them, but the narrator tells him that they barely have any time alone, and this was a "golden opportunity." The narrator asks if the narrator knows that he has two donuts stuck in his head, and the narrator says he does. He then asks if derek is a "total bitch" , and derek says he is. He goes on to say that he wants to go wander around the dealers' room for a while.
