Everyone is waiting for the return of Mr. Kashiwagi, who has gone to meet with a higher-up. When he returns, Riko tells him that she has been unable to contact him. He apologizes, and they resume their work. He tells her that he has exceeded his expectations, and that he would like her to check on the number of orders they have received. Riko wonders why she has not been able to speak with him, but he assures her that everything is going well. He says that he is the only one who is not smiling at her laughing with another woman. He adds that whenever he tries to talk to him, he scowls at her, and she feels sorry for him. She says that Mr.kashi started treating her more and more, and would give her advice about her work and teach her how to do it. He would get mad if she made any mistakes, but even still he felt like they were shrinking the distance between them. She sighs and says that she is exhausted from their trip to Osaka, but that there is no way she will be the only person kicking her feet up. She tells him to hurry up and bring her to the end of the day meeting.
