In this short scene, the Governess tries to wake up her husband, but he is too shy to wake her. The Governess realizes that she is in a different room from him, and she tries to get him to come back to her room. He refuses, saying that he is not ready to go back to his room. She tries to convince him to go to sleep, and he refuses. She tells him that he should go to bed, and when he refuses, she tells him to get up and get ready to leave. He does so, and they go back into the room.
