When the narrator returns home, he tells his wife that she should talk to her husband when she's back home. She's afraid that she'll lose everything she has if she doesn't tell her husband what's going on. She tells him that she loves her husband, but that she can't bear the thought of losing him. She asks him why he didn't listen to her when she said no to him. He tells her that he fell in love with her because she was breaking with him.
