This chapter opens with a description of a hot spring in the middle of nowhere. The narrator and his friend have just taken a bath. The hot springs are full of stars, and the narrator thinks it's a good thing he came to the hot springs because there are hot springs everywhere. The two of them decide to take another bath together.
