The narrator begins by saying that his wife is his wife and that she is being pursued by another man. He asks her to kiss him, but she refuses, saying that she has to wait half a year before she can do so. He tells her to rub her nipples with a wet cloth to make her feel better, and she responds that she does not want to do so, but that she wants to do it anyway. He then tells her that he is going to have sex with her and that he wants her to be intimate with him. She says that she would like to do this, but cannot because she has a hard nipple. He says that he will have to wait until she has had sex with another man, and then he will give her the kiss. The narrator says that this is the first day of the trial marriage, and that it will be a trial period.
