In this short scene, the demon explains to his mother why he fled from hell. He tells her that he has always been scared since he was alive, and that he always wondered whether it would be okay for someone like him to be with her. If it was okay, he says, then he would be someone who would be worth loving and forgiveness. He apologizes for the troubles he has caused her, and says that he wants her to be happy, too. He reminds her not to hurt him when he is overly sensitive, and reminds her to make sure that she does not bite herself when she is trying to soothe him. She tells him to stop trying to be nice to him, and to stop being so sensitive. She also tells him that she has met him in the real world, and she immediately knows that he is her child.
