In this short scene, the young ruffian, xiezhi, is introduced. He is a member of the clan of qilin, and he is also known as the "dragon's servant" . . The qilin king tells him that he is his successor, and that he must protect him. He tells yue to cultivate and learn on his own, in order to become his successor. The scepter, rex, comments that yue is growing more arrogant and self-confident.
