This chapter's epigraph comes from a conversation between the doctor and his son. The doctor tells his son that he wants to become a doctor, and that he will teach his son to be a good doctor. The boy says that he does not want to practice any martial arts, because it is not good enough for him. He wants to be like his father, he says, and he will not waste his time on useless things. He asks if they will take him out for a walk, and the doctor says that it is raining outside, but that he can't go for a stroll because he is bored. He then asks if he knows the poisonous man, and if they have met him before. The kid says that the old man didn't listen to his orders, but the insect mother has also died. The old man says that just like a zombie, a poisonous man only listens to the orders of the dead. He also says that when the kid grows up, he will look no worse than a normal person. He tells the boy to bring the kid to him quickly, because he will take care of the kid for a while, and then he will leave him alone. He says that if the kid wants to run away, he should just do so. He promises to take good care of him, and leaves the boy alone to wonder who his father is.
