About This Chapter
Mr. Tong asks why he is so nice to him. He tells her that they are just for "fun" . He asks if she really likes the wooden boat puzzle. She tells him that when she was a child, she used to go fishing with her parents every day. When her parents died, she grew up on the floating boat. She says that though small, the world is all her late parents left her. She asks if he knows where the puzzle is, and he says that he heard that it was made by "an old carpenter" and that only one piece of it is made. She even fought with another kid to get the puzzle back, but he asked her not to investigate, so she will get it back in the future. She is afraid that she will lose the puzzle, and she asks if you are holding her responsible. He replies that he is a lawyer, and that he cannot afford to take responsibility for his actions. She wonders why he still thinks of her as a woman, and asks if it is necessary for him to waste his time on "vulgar people like her." He says that it only takes him a "phone call" to find a woman if he needs someone by his side.
