It's a beautiful day in the plains, and the senior brothers are working furiously. They're refining a pill. The senior brother asks his younger brother why he doesn't say out that he's refining the pill himself. The younger brother says he'll write a decree making him a disciple core. The elder brother says that he wants to be the one to be blamed for all of this. He wants to make sure that the person who's better than him is the one who gets blamed. The older brother tells the younger brother to go back to practicing alchemy. He also tells the older brother to call on his uncle, who is coming to visit. He says that if the younger brothers do well with the pill, he will teach them dharma, and if they don't, then he won't blame them for going to visit his uncle. He tells them to swallow the pill after they've finished their chores, and then watch for signs of change in their behavior as well. He's not sure if the pill is good or bad, but he promises to get it right.
