The chapter opens with a soliloquy by taoist Qingyun in which he tells the audience that changsheng ate the "immortal pill" himself. He says that the sect leader did not feel bad about eating the pill because he thought that his disciple had already eaten it. He then asks the senior brother to tell him what the pill looks like. The senior brother tells him that the pill must not be left in the air for long and that it must be taken immediately. The elder brother then tells the story of how he saw the pill in his own eyes. He tells his brother that if the pill gets out, he will be screwed. He also says that if he keeps refining the pill, it will be discovered that he has been refining pills for money.
