Dooshik arrives at the dentist's office late at night. He tells his mother that he owes her a favor and asks her to let him use the room over there. He says that if he's lucky, the rent on the room will turn into a thousand dollars and he'll be able to pay off his debts. He's bummed that he hasn't won any money since coming back from the gambling trip, but he wants to get back on his feet. He asks his mother to take a break, but she says she'll go back to the office and use the bathroom. When she comes back, she finds that the girls in the brothel are very different from the ones she saw in her hometown of Seoul. She says that she came to the brothel to pee, but that she didn't find anything there. She asks her mother what's going on, and he tells her that he won seven points in the gambling round, which means that he has lost all of his money and the title to his house. The next day, he says, people put tags on his house and threatened to evict him. He also says that his childhood friend, who claimed to be a friend of his, turned him down. He had thought that his friend would help him one way or the other, but instead, he turned on him coldly. He doesn't want to help anyone else, he just wants to help himself. So he asks his mom to go with him.
