The scene opens with a flashback to the beginning of the play, when the Governess is trying to figure out what is going on in her office. The Governess realizes that she has made a mistake, and she begs her mistress not to tell the director of the meeting what has happened. She asks her mistress to come over and kiss her, but the mistress refuses, saying that she does not want to do so because she is not fond of her mistress. She then proceeds to thrust her hands into the mistress's vagina, and the two begin to have an affair.
