The monster finally pulls his hand out of the crack in the wall and realizes that he's in the middle of nowhere. He wants to run away, but he can't because the snake is looking at him. The snake's eyes hurt when he gets nervous, so the pain in his eyes is even worse this time. The doctor tells the monster that his grandfather is hiding in the mountain with the snake priests. He also tells the story of how the snake clan was wiped out a hundred years before, and how the only survivor was the master of the clan, who was injured in the battle and has been kept safe in the mountains ever since.
