The teacher and the student have sex for the first time in the play. The teacher asks the student if he likes playing games and potato chips, but the student says he doesn't. He wants to know why the teacher won't let him leave the sofa where they used to have sex. The two of them discuss the past six years, during which time the teacher has become a changed man. He says he's always looked lame in front of the teacher, but now that they've spent so much time together, he feels like he can hold his hand. He tells the teacher that he wishes he could give her the rest of his life, so they can have sex again.
