The chapter opens with a soliloquy by Sugaya, in which he laments the fact that he has lost his "first love" . He laments that he feels "lonely" because of his relationship with Sugaya. Sugaya tells him that he is now living by himself in Japan, and Sugaya asks him to go with him to visit him at his school there. He tells Sugaya that the school has not changed since he graduated in 2003. Sugaya says that he wishes he could go there with him, but that he cannot because he has only one first love, and that person is him.
