This chapter opens with a soliloquy by the narrator, who tells us that this is the first time he's ever been in love with anyone. He's also the first person in his life who's not afraid to express his love for someone else. The narrator says that this guy is "the only one" in the entire world who loves someone else, and that's why he made him a special suit of clothes. He says that he made the suit because he wanted to stand next to him and be the "only special person" to him. After all, he
