This chapter opens with a description of the man in the mirror. He's clearly a very nice man, but he's also a little creeped out by the fact that he looks like his mom. He asks if she knows her name, and she tells him that she does. He then asks her if she knew her name when she said "clairge" . She laughs and says that she did, too, and that it was a good choice to challenge him by means of "le gitimate means." She then asks if the president has been doing well, and he says that he has been living his life. She asks if that's because she has let her anger make her hit him. He says that it is because he has let his anger make him hit her. She says that when her father was "blown away" , she was there to help him, and now she's the "presi dent" of the store, which means that she has the power to hire and fire people. She also says that the store doesn't have the time to hire talented people, so the president is planning to resign as the store's chief executive. She then says that a friend of hers is letting her stay with them, so she'll be able to do what she wants to do.
