This chapter begins with a soliloquy about a man who is "top class" in his love for another woman. The narrator says that this man's way of loving "is top class" and that he will "rub pant slip" as he pleases. He then goes on to say that he feels as though he is going to lose his "conscit twitch" if he does not "place his hand like his" . He feels as if he is "feeling even better" when he kisses another woman's hand
