The narrator returns to his room to find Hiromi kissing him on the forehead. Hiromi asks him if their relationship is going well, and Hiromi replies that it is. He tells the narrator that his mother died soon after giving birth to him, and that his brother thinks it is his fault that they became like this. The narrator tells him that he is sorry for the depressing things he has done to his brother, but that he does not regret the bad things he did to his mother. He asks Hiromi if he has any advice for him.
