"The kiss of my subordinate" is the title of this chapter. It begins with the narrator's description of the kiss of his subordinate, who looks like he's drenched on the desk. He's worried about the kiss because he thinks it's a serious kiss, and he wonders if the subordinate could possibly be serious. The narrator is also worried about his feelings for the subordinate, because she's confused about her feelings for him. She's frustrated because she hasn't been able to see the subordinate's shin, and she wants to see him sooner. She tells him that she'll be taking a short break from work so she can see him. He tells her that he'll finish up quickly, and they'll go home together. He kisses her on the lips and she gasps, "kiss wandet" , and "yo - yo - pant" . He does this out of the blue, and the narrator is glad that he did it out of nowhere. He wants to have a sexual relationship with her.
