In this chapter, the young doctor, Enami, tells the young patient, Hiroyuki, that she fell in love with him when he was only 25 years old. Enami tells Hiroyuki that if he misses her, he should go and see her. The young doctor says that as a doctor in a remote village, he has to be up to the job at hand, and when he is not up to it, he will end up "spinning his wheels." Enami says that a strong fisherman told her not to compare herself to others and not to hold herself up to "unrealistic expectations." Hiroyuki agrees to take care of a fixed net the next day, but he will be away for three days.
