The scene opens with a flashback to a scene from the novel, in which a young woman is in the process of eating a piece of meat. The young woman, who has just come from the meat market, is horrified to see that the man in front of her is ravenously eating the meat. She asks the young woman to stop eating, but the woman refuses, saying that she has no intention of doing so. She then asks the man to stop rubbing the meat on her, but he does not, saying instead that he is going to "dump" the meat onto her. This is a reference to the passage in the novel in which the narrator says that the meat is being "dumped" onto the woman, and that she is "screaming freely" as the man is "pummeling" her. The narrator then tells us that this is the first time he has ever seen the man "being so possessive" of his own body.
