The scene opens with a description of a woman who has been made to have sex three times by her " peerless brother in law" before her husband returns home. The woman, who is called "Nanami" by the audience, is overcome with pity for her brother's absence. She tells herself that she will never do such a thing again. She then tells her husband that she is his wife and that she has to go see an exhibition of her drawings.
