In this chapter, Gu changge explains that he is a fated villain who yawns at the sight of the young woman. He says that he would like to treat the girl like a normal person. He thinks that she has changed because of the grudges she had from her past life. The daughter of fate, he says, has wavered in her intention to kill, but she seems to believe that her reincarnation is the cause of her change. Gu says that if he gives her some clues about his past life, she will come to the conclusion that many things are true. He wonders why the lord knew that the mysterious village existed, and why the peach tree has disappeared so many years ago. He also wonders who the girl is, and wonders why she has a "domain-breaking talisman" . He compares her to a refined demeanor, and he wonders how he could have fallen as low as he has. He asks the girl if she knows who he is. The girl says that she does not, and the young master says that the girl should not block his path. The young master calls him a "buzzkill," and he curses him.
