The narrator apologizes to Step. He tells Step that he tried to stop Bomi, but she won't stop trying to beat him up in front of the store. He says he'll go talk to Bomi today. Step apologizes, too, and says that he's sorry that he lied to him, and that he started dating Bomi because he didn't want words to get in the way. Step says that they've barely been together for a month and that they suit each other more than they ever suited each other in the two years they'd been together. He's dead meat today, he says. Step chases after him, saying that he came to talk to him and that if he acted like this, he'd be able to solve everything through conversation. He asks if he even has an idea how long it's been since they last spoke, and he says he deserves to be beat to death for having dated her. He also says that bomi started dating him without thinking about what they meant to each other. He apologizes for speaking too harshly, but he doesn't have an answer for why he lied. He just wants to go to the hospital.
