In this short scene, we learn that the room where Lingnan is staying is actually Lingnan's room, and that Lingnan will have to move out of it immediately. Lingnan, however, is determined to make the best of his situation. He decides to go and change the light bulb himself, rather than wait for a monk to come and change it for him. He then asks Lingnan if there is anywhere in the neighborhood where they can get food, and Lingnan replies that she has something to do, so she can't go to the monk's house. He asks her where her manners have gone, and she replies that her ego has "inflated" after being successful in the entertainment business. She then asks him if he has called on her to teach her how to behave herself according to her position in the family, and he replies that he has come to do so. She asks if she can learn the family's manners from him, but he says that he will consider whether or not to pass on his knowledge of manners and education to her.
