About This Chapter
In this short scene, Minjung asks his father to come out to help him with his homework. Minjung tells his father that he can't come out because he has an exam the next day, but Minjung promises that he'll come out when he's done with his chores. The two men return to Minjung's room to find that the exam has ended and that Minjung has gone home. He asks Minjung if he can pick him up, and Minjung says that he doesn't think he can go, because his parents have something urgent to discuss. He tells Minjung that the teachers are talking about how his parents raised him so well, and that he didn't do well enough on the exam, so Minjung feels pressured to do well in the exam. He says that his father is lucky that he has a son like Minjung, who can do everything on his own. He also says that if Minjung wants to apply for a university in Korea, he can do so with his grades, since he likes to read books. The father tells his son that he is also applying to a contest to get into the university, and he says that it's because he likes reading books. He adds that he thinks Minjung can do better in his grades than he can in his studies, since his parents don't seem to care about his grades
