The narrator tells the reader that he lowered the lights on the cafe the day before to make it look like he was going outside. He also says that it's good to be outside, even if it was unavoidable. He invites her to join him at the cafe, and she agrees. He tells her that he was worried about going out, but that it would be better to get rid of those thoughts. He asks her if she said she'd be late because she was going to a publishing company. She says she'll pick her up at 7pm, and then they can go to her school. She tells the narrator that she's glad that she has a phone so that she can call Ja-hyuk later. She also tells him that there's been an accident in the front yard of her school, so she won't be able to have dinner with him, but she promises to come pick him up. She asks the narrator if he has dinner with her, and he says he did. He then asks her where she is at school, and the narrator says that something urgent has come up for her. He wants to know if Ja-hyun is done with his work, and if he should call him. He doesn't want to bother him, he says, and goes to the cafe.
