About This Chapter
In this short scene, the young woman is in hysterics. She has just returned from a visit with her mother, and she is worried that she will not be able to return to her mother's care. She is grateful to the two young women for taking care of her, but she still feels that there is a "giant hole in her heart." The young woman thanks the two of them for their kindness, and asks them to borrow some comic books from her. The comic books rustle as she borrows them. She tells them that she had a good night's sleep so she feels much better now, and thanks to them, there is no time for her to fall ill. She says that thanks to the young women, she has no time to get sick, but still feels like there is "a giant hole in his heart." She asks if it is time for him to use her, and to let people know his face, but he knows that will not work. He says that he already bought some alcohol personally, and he wants to go to her room and become closer to her. He wants to give the comic books to her in return for her kindness. He feels that he was living in the life of a person who was "the subject of envy" and jealousy in the dog-eating-dog world, and now that his hopes have been shattered, something inside of him has collapsed. He wonders why he is not answering his phone, and wonders if there is something fishy about the press conference that has not yet taken place. He realizes that he has to "drop the bomb beforehand" when things like this happen.
