In this chapter, we learn that the father of the two children has died, and that the mother has left the children in the care of a doctor. The father's name is Huw, and the mother is Madame Bovary. The two children are called "qin jing" and "jing yan" , which means "little princess" or "little sister" in Chinese. When the mother asks the little princess how she got to the emergency room, she says that she can't speak to strangers and that she will be "swamped by demon king" . The little princess begs her mother to follow the way she went to find her mother, and she promises to do so if she doesn't believe her.
