At the intersection of 13th street and balete drive, the wind howling like a wounded animal, the body of a woman has been run over by an aswang drunk driver. A young woman named Alexandria trese, who has come to the scene to find out what has happened to the body, asks the driver if he has taken away the body. The driver replies that he has, but that he will need a warrant to do so. He tells Alexandria that he got the ingredients for the powder from a "reliable source" and that he plans to send a search party to look for the missing woman. He also tells her that they tried to communicate with her spirit, but she has remained elusive.
