The gaijin man tells the boy that he's all right, but that he doesn't even have a name. He's a terrible fighter, but his tongue is sharp, so he'll follow him until the boy gives him the stone back. The boy is afraid that the demon will kill them if they find them, but daisuke assures him that they'll be fine. . The man says that if he were to wander away from the beaten path, he'd come across the place where the "clouds snake" through the trees. It wasn't him, he says, but it was ujinashi, the one who "sunk her teeth into mine flesh" . He says that uji-nashi san is a good man, too, and that he too was "abandoned as a child." .
